Dr. Julia Shekleton,

Clinical Neuropsychologist, BBNSc(Hons),  DPsych (Clin Neuro),  MAPS,  CCN 

Julia completed her undergraduate degree in Behavioural Neuroscience (with Honours in Psychology) and went on to complete her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Neuropsychology at Monash University.  Julia has experience working in multidisciplinary settings, alongside paediatricians, and other allied health professionals including speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work and dietetics. Her work focuses on providing assessment and intervention for children with a range of neurodevelopment disorders.  This includes autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, specific learning disorders and a range of complex medical and mental health issues.  Julia recognises the importance of working alongside professionals in the early learning, primary, secondary and tertiary education settings to obtain the optimal outcome for each child.   She also provides training and workshops to allied health and educational professionals, and community organisations.  Julia has worked in the Paediatric Neuropsychology Service in the Children’s Allied Health Service at Sunshine Hospital, completing multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental assessments. Julia currently works at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Metabolic Medicine and in private practice with the Child and Adolescent Neuropsychology Group in Melbourne.

Julia is registered with the Psychologist Board of Australia, with endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology and is an approved supervisor.  Julia is a member of the Australian Psychological Association and the Clinical College of Neuropsychologists.  Julia is also active in clinical research, and  has been a co-investigator in numerous research studies and produced  several  peer-reviewed  publications.
