Dr Jessica Trevena-Peters, BOT/ BPsySc(Hons), DPsych(Clinical Neuropsychology
Jessica originally trained and worked as an Occupational Therapist delivering assessment and rehabilitation in inpatient and community settings for individuals following acquired brain injury within a multi-disciplinary team. She was the senior occupational therapist of a private rehabilitation group. Jessica then went on to complete her Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology at Monash University. Her doctoral research focused on early intervention following brain injury. Jessica has been involved in research since this time, including training numerous occupational therapists around Australia in delivery of the intervention developed for her research. Jessica has also been a board member of the not-for-profit organisation, Heads Together for ABI. Within this she has coordinated recreational camps for families with a child with a brain injury.
As a Paediatric Neuropsychologist Jessica currently works at a private neuropsychology practice, The Child and Adolescent Neuropsychology Group, in Melbourne. Within this role she completes thorough neuropsychological assessments addressing a wide range of areas (e.g., neurodevelopment disorders / diagnoses, learning difficulties, social-emotional-behavioural difficulties etc.). She also completes intervention with children and their families. As a neuropsychologist, this addresses cognition, behaviour and emotions, and is holistic in working with the child, their family, other supports, and school. Jessica also works in public health, part-time, in an adult rehabilitation setting. Jessica has a strong passion for working collaboratively with children, their families and schools to ensure children are supported, understood, and celebrated.
