Tim Clark is a Partner and Joint Head of Melbourne Department of Piper Alderman Law Firm
Tim has extensive experience in general commercial agreements, business acquisitions and disposals, corporate structures, franchising, intellectual property protection and commercialisation and IT and telecommunications contracts.
A significant proportion of Tim’s work is for organisations involved in technology industries, such as IT and telecommunications, health and life sciences and clean technology. This work includes drafting and negotiating complex licence and technology transfer agreements, research and development agreements and collaboration agreements.
Tim also regularly provides advice to clients in relation to management of legal risks relating to social media.
Tim has extensive experience advising IT and telecommunications service providers about software licensing, software development, cloud services, IT services and telecommunications contracts as well as advising clients in a range of industries in relation to their dealings with IT and telecommunications service providers.
Tim has a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Science, both from the University of Melbourne, and is a member of the Licensing Executives Society and the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (as well as various industry groups).
In the 2013 edition of the Asia Pacific Legal 500, Tim is highlighted as a ‘name to note’ in both intellectual property and technology, media and telecommunications law.
